The Bible & Mormonism
This document has been prepared by concerned Christians who sincerely pray and hope that many who are involved in this religion will take a serious look at the Bible, and compare it with their own teachings.
If you are a Mormon, please check this document carefully to ensure that we are accurately representing what you believe and teach. If we are inaccurate in any way, please feel free to contact us and provide us with ample documentation that shows the error, and we would be happy to make appropriate changes. We would also like you to know that we would be happy to cordially meet with you or any who are with your church and discuss these matters over the Word of God.
Although many Mormons will try to avoid this topic, it is a well-known and recorded teaching of the Mormons that Jesus Christ is the brother of Lucifer (Satan), and that Satan is a an actual born son of God the Father (Mormon Doctrine, page 163 & 192). They actually believe and teach that God the Father has sexual relations with Mary, and that thru these relations, billions of "Spirit Children" are born. (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, p. 218, 1857; vol. 8, p. 115.). The Bible clearly teaches that the true Jesus Christ is the "only begotten Son of God" (John 1:14), NOT the brother of Lucifer. This clearly shows that God has no other sons.
The Mormons teach that God used to be a man on another planet (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321). They teach that God the Father had a father (Joseph Smith, History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 476). They actually believe that they can potentially become gods, like God the Father someday and rule a planet of their own. The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith said: ". . . and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves…the same as all gods before you, namely by going from one small degree to another…" (Times and Seasons, August 1,1844). The Bible clearly teaches that there is ONE GOD, and that any teaching that indicates otherwise is absolutely against the teaching of Jesus and the whole of the Bible. Isaiah 44:6 says, “I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God” (Also see 1st Timothy 2:5, Exodus 20:5, Isaiah 37:16).
Strange symbols used by the Mormon Church:
The Pentagram symbol is strikingly ANTI-CHRISTIAN and can be clearly seen by all who visit the Mormon Temple and Visitor Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The pentagram is the universal sign of Satan and a symbol of opposition to Jesus Christ. It has been used for centuries as a symbol to call down demons, long before Joseph Smith and Mormonism. Before you walk through the glass doors of the Mormon Church History Museum, look up and to the left at the mural on the outside wall, and you'll see this Satanic symbol. Numerous inverted pentagrams appear above each arched window around the Salt Lake Temple. There is also an inverted pentagram over the doors at the east end of the temple. There are dozens of them there. Go and see for yourself!
Other symbols of the Mormon Church include the 5-Pointed Star, the goat of Mendes, the all-seeing eye, various phases of the moon, astrological symbols, the hexagon, etc. In fact, “redeeming the dead” is one of the Mormon’s top three goals according to Dr. Harold Goodman, the Mormon Mission President.
DNA & The Book of Mormon:
Striking recent DNA findings have further discredited specific teachings of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. This has even been admitted by Mormon scholars themselves! Joseph Smith once said, "I told the brethren that The Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion." Mormonism teaches that the book of Mormon is inspired of God and equal to the Bible. The Book of Mormon clearly teaches that all Native American Indians are descendants of Jews. However, the world’s top DNA anthropological scientists are absolutely certain that NO Native American tribes have Hebrew/Jewish descent. They discovered this through extensive DNA testing of over 150 tribes across North and South America. Even Mormon PhD, DNA scientists are openly admitting that Joseph Smith's story concerning the origin of the American Indians and the idea that Jesus came to the Americas to visit them is a fable, and several have left the Mormonism due to these findings. A few other notes:
Brigham Young said your own blood must atone for some sins: "There is not a man or woman, who violates the covenants made with their God, that will not be required to pay the debt. The blood of Christ will never wipe that out, your own blood must atone for it . . . " (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, page 247; see also, Vol. 4, pp. 53-54, 219-220.) The Bible says that “the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin (I John 1:7). Joseph Smith and Brigham Young both taught that there are real people living on the sun and the moon, “. . . the men as averaging near six feet in height, and dressing quite uniformly in something near the Quaker style.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 13, p. 271, The Young Woman's Journal, Vol. 3, pages 263-264). Since these so-called “prophets” were wrong about the sun and the moon, is it safe to trust him regarding the way to Heaven? The Bible says that one false prophecy makes a false prophet (Deut 18:22).
Although most Mormons will not readily admit yet another of their documented teachings, it is true that Mormonism teaches that the "True Gospel of Jesus Christ" was lost in a time they call the "Dark Ages". Then (according to their teachings) "the Gospel was restored to earth in the last days through the instrumentality of Joseph Smith", and the teaching gets even more pitiful: "The true Gospel of Jesus Christ…is found only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" (Mormon Doctrine, pages 33, 43, 334). To put it simply, they teach that unless you're a Mormon, you do not have the True Gospel. But the sad truth is that they are the ones teaching a FALSE GOSPEL.
Mormons should be lovingly shown their error by using the clear teaching of the Bible. The Bible says that the True Gospel is freely given "unto all that believe" (Romans 3:22) & “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him, might not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
